Put this up there with the Grand National's as THE rides to have in the late 80's/early 90's! A very rare GMC Typhoon! These are factory V6 turbo powered rides with all-wheel drive that were way ahead of their time for GM Performance. Only around 4600 of these were produced over two years (92-93) and were brothers to the truck version GMC Syclone. They were producing nearly 300hp from the factory which was up there with the Corvette's, and more power than the Camaro's of the day! This SUV is sporting a few upgrades such as downpipe, exhaust, air intake along with a few other possible upgrades that we haven't fully dived into including injectors and tuning. She sounds healthy and runs out really well. No fault lights are showing on the dash. Turbo builds boost in a hurry. Transmission shifts out nicely. Suspension feels solid and is responsive. The steering box has a little bit of slack in it. No weird noises or concerns with the all-wheel drive system.
For the age of the ride, she's in overall good condition. She is straight with no damage, no major dents or major flaws. There are some minor rock chips or scuffs here or there. All the claddings are there (which can be a rare thing for these rides) but one or two show signs of previous crack repairs and one of the lower side claddings has a crack in it. The suspension has been lowered and is sitting on C5 Corvette wheels with meaty tires. She looks the part of a 80k mile vehicle on the inside! She's well maintained with black leather seats and all power options. No major rips or stains in the leather. The power features work correctly including the factory radio. Original floor mats are still in the car! Very collectible, cool car to have! This is a tough one for us to see go.
